Cedar Lodge products are basically maintenance free, Western Red Cedar is a naturally extremely durable wood species (see also the benefits of
Western Red Cedar).
With the design and during production it has been taken into account that your Cedar Lodge furniture should last for life and it should provide you with optimal comfort.
Our furniture meets the following high quality requirements:

- All Cedar Lodge lounge chairs are ergonomically designed with six back slats, ensuring a space and not a wooden slat is running under your spine. An odd number of back slats would position solid wood under your backbone.
- Cedar Lodge places no visible screws on the upper surfaces of any of our leisure chairs and benches. Nothing but finished wood is visible when viewing Cedar Lodge chairs and benches. All fastening is done from the underside to eliminate any possibility of rainwater sitting in screw pockets. Without a doubt, the Cedar Lodge chair is the cleanest looking piece of furniture you will ever find.
- All Cedar Lodge products are made from 100% clear (no knots) kiln-dried Western Red Cedar. We import all our Western Red Cedar from selected British Columbian mills.
- All joints are glued using a water proof wood glue, which will never become brittle within a joint.
- Where applicable, we use mortise and tenon joinery.
- Screws are brown ceramic-coated to provide an industry rated standard of 10 times the life of zinc-coated screws. At the same time the colour of the brown ceramic-coated screws will not clash with the natural hues of the Western Red Cedar.

| It is no problem for the Cedar Lodge furniture stay outside during the winterseason. However It is best to protect furniture during frost periods (not so much the wood, but joints can be affected when it freezes if they are wet). Remember, freezing water can split rocks! A good solution for this is to place a cover over your furniture (mind good ventilation). This way you have nothing to worry about. |
